Rebecca L. Hargrove is currently on tour with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players performing the role of Peep-Bo in The Mikado. This season she makes her solo Carnegie Hall debut with Jason Moran and Alicia Hall-Moran in Two Wings: The Music of Black America in Migration, her Bard SummerScape debut as the titular character in Acquanetta a new opera by Michael Gordon, and looks forward to joining the 2019/2020 season of the Metropolitan Opera as a company member in Porgy and Bess. Last season Rebecca performed the role of The Mother in the world premiere of Joseph C. Phillips’s mono-opera, The Grey Land with Numinous Music.
Previous engagements include New York City Opera, New York City Center Encores!, Spoleto Festival USA, David Geffen Hall, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Madison Square Garden, The Garden State Philharmonic, and the John F. Kennedy Center. She has received distinguished awards from the National Young Arts Foundation, Opera Ebony, The NSAL Shirley Rabb Winston Vocal Competition, and The Ebony Classical Singer's Competition.
